Midsummer Night Dreams –
a romantic pas d’armes and masque
During the day, we remain in the realm of the familiar. Meals, ceremonies and deeds of arms take their usual paths. Choose to support the Golden Sun or the Silver Moon in our courtly pas d’armes, show your mettle upon the field of steel, or at the archery butts. Or display your arts and mechanical skills as you while away the sunlight hours discussing the gossip and business of the day with the gentles you know. But when night falls, we enter a different realm. The world is turned upside down, as we don masks and disguises, abandoning our familiar roles and behaviour. The night belongs to Lovers, to Fools, to the Faerie Queen and her capricious Puck. As magic reigns, we revel in a wild Masque of dancing, music, tall tales… and whatever else the night may hold.
